Caritas Nigeria sensitizes staff and sister agencies to participate in the forthcoming 2023 General elections

"Orange the World" is the theme for the 2020 International Campaign against Gender-based violence GBV which began on November 25, 2020, (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and is expected to last for the next 16 days.

Working with the subtheme “Respond, Fund and Collect”, Caritas Nigeria is joining the United Nations and the rest of the world in this campaign by rolling out 16 days of activisim against all forms of Gener-based violence. The campaign kicked off on the first day at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, seat of the organization's country office with Holy Mass celebrations where special intentions and prayers were dedicated to survivors of gender-based violence.

The mass celebration was followed by a group photograph with priests and all staff of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria community dressed in crested T-shirts for the campaign. On the same day, there was a radio talk show at Human Rights Radio Abuja, where the GBV toll-free number of the organization was shared with the public.

Across the states and in project locations, similar campaign activities are being replicated and Caritas Nigeria staff are expected to engage health workers, clinicians and stakeholders to increase visibility for this year’s campaign against GBV. In addition, all staff of Caritas Nigeria are expected to sign a Gender Based Violence form.

The campaign is expected to come to an end on Thursday, 10th December 2020 with a thanksgiving mass for a successful celebration
