The Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN); also known as Caritas Nigeria is the specialised agency of the Catholic Church in Nigeria for coordinating development and Humanitarian interventions. Since its establishment in 2010 by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Caritas Nigeria has reached millions of  beneficiaries  and communities across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Caritas Nigeria is a member of Caritas Internationalis, a global confederation of 166 member nations that shares in the common vision of being the outreach of the Church to those in need.


Laudato Si @ 7 Summit

To commemorate the seventh anniversary of Laudato Si, the Holy Father, Pope Francis' encyclical published in May 2015, Caritas Nigeria will be joining  forces with sister agencies under the Department of Church and Society as well other actors in the development space to organize a 2-day Summit under the theme, "Synod of Synodality in the Context of Laudato Si: The Nigerian Experience", 

The Hybrid event will be held at the Resource of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Durumi, Abuja for those within Abuja and its environs while remote participants can attend virtually on the Summit's Zoom platform after registering.

The host for the Summit is the Episcopal Chair of the Department of Church and Society, Arch Bishop Adewale Martins while the convener is the department's National Director and Caritas Nigeria's Executive Secretary, Rev Fr Uchechukwu Obodoechina
