Caritas Nigeria sensitizes staff and sister agencies to participate in the forthcoming 2023 General elections

The World Day Against Human Trafficking which comes up every 30th of July was marked with several activities by the Caritas Nigeria staff in Benin.

First on the list was a radio programme at the KU FM Benin City where Caritas Nigeria staff led by the Program Lead Barr. Onomen Oriakhi were guests on their Saturday morning show.

The media engagement was aimed at creating further awareness of the menace of human trafficking and its manifestations as well as sharing with listerners tips on the safe use of technology. The  media event also included a phone-in session where listeners called to ask questions on trafficking situations, seek advice and share their experiences.

To wrap up activities for the Day, Caritas Nigeria joined the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) as well as the Edo Task Force Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT) in their rallies. Different stakeholders joined in the road walk to sensitize the public on the dangers of human trafficking, the trends used by traffickers on the internet especially on social media platforms and the need for everyone to be  more vigilant.
