State Clinical Mentors Training

Monday, April 25th, to Friday, April 29th, 2022, was a huge development for Caritas Nigeria as 25 of her staff across Delta, Abia, and Enugu states  were trained  on additional clinical skills to help them  carry out their duties effectively while in the field

The national clinical mentor;Dr. Ezema Godiya Chibueze together with the State Aid Program Coordinator SAPC Enugu State, and CDC facilitators among other partners coordinated the program.

The intensive training  lasted for five days primarily  for the newly employed state clinical mentors  towards achieving the HIV epidemic control in Nigeria.

Caritas Nigeria donates computer printers and cartridges for 28 hospitals in Enugu state

Caritas Nigeria Enugu office through her State Team Lead, Mr. Fabian Bassey on the 27th of April,2022,  donated 30 computer printers to 28 hospitals in Enugu state.  The kind deed is to support the State health facilities as well as the Ministry of Health and the Hospital Management Board in order to ameliorate some of the office printing challenges.

The donation was rreceived by the State Ministry of Health through the State Aid Program Coordinator (SAPC), Dr. Okenwa, and the Hospital Management Board Administrator, Dr. Ossai.  

The hospitals that  benefitted from this good-will are: Achi Joint Hospital, Annunciation Specialist Hospital Emene, Awgu General Hospital, Bishop Shanahan Specialist Hospital, Chima Hospital And Maternity,Daughters of Divine Love, Ehalumona, ENMC – Dr Nlogha Okeke Memorial Medical Foundation,Ezike Enugu General Hospital,Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Faith Foundation Mission Hospital, Nsukka, General Hospital Agbani,Iji Nike Cottage Hospita, Ikem General Hospital,Mother Of Christ Specialist Hospital, Nsukka General Hospital, and Ntasi Obi Catholic Hospital.

Vulnerable Households in Ngor Okpala receive support from Caritas Nigeria

The Caritas Nigeria 4GATES programme has sustained her support to vulnerable households enrolled in the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) project in  Ngor Okpala local government of Imo state.  The support includes income-generating interventions targeted at households who have either lost their source of income-generation due to the impact of HIV/AIDS, or already have an Income Generating Activity (IGA) but require a boost to increase their capacity to meet essential needs of the households. Beneficiaries to be supported are selected using the outcome of Household Economic Vulnerability Assessment (HEVA).

A 30 years old Ngozi Osuji from Umuneke Ihitte Okwe; and 42 years old Chinyere Ihenkoronye from Umuchulu receive financial aid to start African Salad and Fufu businesses respectively. The provision of these items is to further help the households to achieve resilience in making their households healthy, and safe.
