Caritas Nigeria is the agency of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) for coordinating the development and humanitarian interventions in Nigeria.



The word 'Caritas' is derived from Latin and means love or charity for all.



Caritas Nigeria works in any part of the country, especially in hard-to-reach areas and under-served communities. She is an equal-opportunity employer meeting the needs of all beneficiaries irrespective of creed, status or race.



Caritas Nigeria works with the  structure of the Church and its partners to carry out interventions. She has the mandate to coordinate the development and humanitarian activities of the Church.



Caritas Nigeria partners with governmental and non-governmental entities. This also includes faith-based organizations (FBOs) from other denominations and religions.



Caritas Nigeria was incorporated in September 2010 by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
