A one-day session on "Mind Matters: Nurturing Mental Wellness in the Workplace" was held recently to improve the productivity of the Caritas Nigeria staff working on the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and CDC-funded Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) project in Enugu State.
Throwing light on the factors that contribute to mental disorders such as socioeconomic and genetic factors, our Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Raphael Aguanunu, also highlighted other forms of disorders like mood and psychotic disorders that militate against mental well-being.
The workers also learned valuable lessons on the importance of work-life balance and effective strategies towards attaining it, for a healthier and supportive workplace culture.
